Super Nintendo World is set to open at Universal Studios Hollywood in early 2023, and one of the first attractions will be Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge. This augmented reality attraction has you put on special goggles to battle Team Bowser on familiar Mario Kart courses alongside Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach. You’ll be able to collect coins and throw shells to win the Golden Cup just like in the video game.
No other details have been revealed about the Hollywood version, but in Japan, guests enter Super Nintendo World through a warp pipe from an entrance plaza that can be accessed from a walkway that branches next to the WaterWorld sign. Speaking of Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Japan, they’re also getting a Donkey Kong land expansion, which is planned to open in 2024, complete with a roller coaster, various interactive experiences, and themed merchandise / food.
