Polestar’s KOJA is a Secret, Minimalistic Tree House That Looks Like a Spaceship

EV maker Polestar’s KOJA is a secret, minimalistic tree house that could be mistaken for a spaceship in the Finnish forest. It was designed by Kristian Talvitie to be a micro space that is accessible for people who would otherwise take a much longer trip to experience the wilderness. The tree house encapsulates both Polestar design language and sustainability values, while minimizing the use of material as well as energy.

To make KOJA a reality, Kristian Talvitie collaborated with the Polestar Design team in Gothenburg, Sweden and colleagues at Finnish design agency Ultra. In the end, they used sustainable and durable materials, including locally sourced wood and wool, to build KOJA. The finished tree house blends in with its natural environment and also creates an eye-catching contrast. Then there’s the Starburst House in Joshua Tree made entirely from shipping containers.
