Vampire Weekend have announced a 2024 North American tour and shared two new singles of their upcoming album Only God Was Above: “Capricorn” and “Gen-X Cops.”
The 39-date tour kicks off in early June, following the band’s festival appearances at New Orleans Jazz Fest, Kilby Block Party in Salt Lake City, and Primavera Sound in Barcelona. As part of the North American headlining run, they’ll play multiple shows at Madison Square Garden in New York, Red Rocks in Morrison, CO, and The Greek Theatre in Berkeley, CA. Perhaps most exciting for Jamie Lee Curtis, Vampire Weekend will also play matinee shows at Madison Square Garden, The Greek Theatre, and KettleHouse Amphitheater in Bonner, MT.

Both singles premiere with corresponding music videos as well, featuring street footage of New York from 1988 filmed by photographer Steven Siegel, who took the photo that serves as the artwork for Only God Was Above Us. Additionally, the video for “Gen-X Cops” includes shots of a the New York subway from the ’80s re-created with an authentic subway car, even featuring a “meticulously researched” lighting rig to accurately emulate the light patterns of the subway tunnels from that era.
