Paramore have announced Re: This Is Why, a remixed and reworked version of their latest album out this Friday, October 6th.
The band described the project as “almost a remix album” in a statement on social media. “We’ve long wanted to recognize the connection we have with some of the artists who’ve influenced us as a band and/or who have cited our band as an influence,” they shared. “Some of the songs have been remixed sort of classically, while others were reworked or rewritten. It’s incredible to hear all our worlds colliding.” Pre-saves for the album are ongoing. See the artwork below.
The announcement comes after Paramore shared snippets of remixes of songs (via The Line of Best Fit) from the original album, This Is Why, on their Discord server, including “Thick Skull” featuring Julien Baker, “Liar” with The xx’s Romy on vocals, Remi Wolf’s take on “You First,” Bartees Strange’s reworking of “Figure 8,” and Wet Let’s Rhian Teasdale’s cover of “C’est Comme Ça.”
Over the weekend, the trio of Hayley Williams, Taylor York, and Zac Farro celebrated the 14th anniversary of their third studio album, Brand New Eyes, by posting a photo from that era with former members Josh Farro and Jeremy Davis cropped out.
Later this month, Paramore will play The New Yorker Festival (grab tickets here), ahead of a run of shows in Australia and New Zealand. Next year, the band will open for Taylor Swift on her European tour. Grab tickets for the overseas dates here.
