Screen Rant presents an exclusive clip from Hunters season 2, featuring a closer look at Jennifer Jason Leigh’s badass Nazi Hunter Chava Apfelbaum.
Screen Rant is thrilled to present an exclusive clip from Hunters season 2, which lands on Prime Video this week after much anticipation. The first season, which originally premiered to great fanfare back in February 2020, followed a group of misfits who banded together to track down Nazis planning to create a Fourth Reich in the United States in the 1970s. Created by David Weil, Hunters is led by Logan Lerman (Bullet Train) and Al Pacino, while also featuring a talented ensemble cast that includes Josh Radnor, Greg Austin, Tiffany Boone, Louis Ozawa, and Kate Mulvany.
Hunters season 1 saw young Jonah Heidelbaum (Lerman) become part of the crew in place of his grandmother, who was tragically murdered and whose killer he swore to take down as he hunted Nazis under the tutelage of Meyer Offerman (Pacino). But nothing was as it seemed in the conspiracy-laden show, and Offerman was eventually revealed to be not Jonah’s long-lost grandfather and a Holocaust survivor but rather Wilhelm Zuchs—a Nazi known as the Wolf who tortured Jonah’s grandmother and killed his real grandfather. This leaves Jonah to carry on his mission with the rest of the Hunters alone, and with his moral compass severely damaged. Meanwhile, Hunters season 2 will introduce new characters to the mix, such as Jennifer Jason Leigh’s mysterious Chava Apfelbaum.
What To Expect From Hunters Season 2
Screen Rant‘s exclusive clip from Hunters season 2 offers an intense first look at Chava, who is in the middle of her search for a “ghost.” She interrogates a terrified candy shop owner about Hitler’s whereabouts, as her trail only leads her to the strange town of Van Glooten. As a man loyal to the devil of a Führer, the shop owner is reluctant to give away Hitler’s whereabouts. But Leigh’s Chava is full of fury and remarkably convincing in her wrath, leaving viewers with little doubt that she will wear him down.
While the above clip takes place in 1972, two years have passed since the finale in the present-day Hunters timeline, making it 1979. The band will get back together for their most challenging mission yet: locating Adolf Hitler himself in South America. Meanwhile, despite the Wolf’s demise in season 1, he is back in a parallel plot line that takes place after World War II. The audience will witness him deal with the threat of his identity being exposed in a story that may have reverberating effects for Jonah and his companions decades later.
Aside from the explosive final season of Hunters, Prime Video is also home to many other exciting series that are worth checking out in January. The action-packed spy series Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan just dropped its third season, while Alfred Molina’s eccentric crime series Three Pines premiered its first season last month. For those interested in more international television, the Korean fantasy series Island also drops new episodes weekly.
Prime Video will release all 8 episodes of Hunters season 2 on January 13.
