Quantum Leap showrunner Martin Gero has suggested how Ben and Hannah’s relationship in season 2 will end, indicating the season will give it an ending. During season 2, episode 8, the time-crossed lovers met once more, this time confessing their feelings for one another. This sets the stage for the rest of the season, which will no doubt explore how their relationship can unfold despite Ben leaping through time.
Speaking with NBC, Gero confirmed Quantum Leap season 2 will give Ben and Hannah’s relationship a proper, conclusive development by the end. The showrunner compared each season to a book, teasing the duo’s ending will be a crowd pleasing turn of events. Check out what Gero had to say below:
Our promise to the audience in this version of the show is that we’re really treating each season like a book in a series of novels you really like. This is a story that will have a conclusion this season. It will be satisfying and full and surprising.
How Will Ben & Hannah Get A Happy Ending?
During the show’s midseason finale, Addision theorized the reason Ben and Hannah keep meeting through leaps is because of fate itself. It appears the duo are destined to be together despite the number of decades separating them from one another. This will no doubt be explored in future episodes, with Gero’s statement seemingly confirming they’ll somehow wind up with a happy ending together.
While Ben and Hannah’s unexpected romance keeps them apart through time, it’s clear from their many interactions so far that they will find some way of being together. This could involve Ben deciding to stay in a specific time period with her, or the team developing a way to bring her forward in time. No matter how the lovers are able to be together, it appears even time itself is rooting for them to have a happy ending.

Quantum Leap Interview: Raymond Lee & Caitlin Bassett Break Down The Mid-Season Finale
Screen Rant interviewed Raymond Lee and Caitlin Bassett about filming in Egypt and Ben and Addison’s new relationship dynamic in Quantum Leap.
However, it’s unclear how Ben and Hannah’s relationship could impact the time stream, which may be altered drastically by either of them staying in a new time period. If the pair are going to get a happy ending, then the final episodes of Quantum Leap season 2 will have to address their staying together at one point in time. It appears long-term developments are in store for how the duo get a satisfying conclusion together.
Quantum Leap will return with 5 new episodes in 2024.
