On September 20, 2025, RADD (Recording Artists Against Drunk Driving) will take center stage at the United Nations Peace Day Concert in Times Square with a special screening of its acclaimed music video for Paul McCartney’s “Drive My Car.” First debuted in 1994, the video will be reintroduced by RADD Chairman John Velasco, underscoring the organization’s ongoing commitment to saving lives through music, advocacy, and cultural impact.
RADD’s message is more urgent than ever: road traffic crashes claim 1.19 million lives every year worldwide. Building on its legacy of fighting drunk driving, RADD is expanding its mission to address impaired and distracted driving of all kinds, rebranding as the Entertainment Industry’s Voice for Road Safety.
“Music has always been a unifying force, and RADD continues to harness that power to deliver a life-saving message,” said John Velasco. “As we evolve to meet today’s challenges, we are proud to amplify the voices of artists and industry leaders who believe that saving lives is not just a cause but a responsibility.”
Adding a powerful live element to the event, RADD artist Prince Parker will perform a stirring Jimi Hendrix–style rendition of the “Stars and Stripes” in Times Square. Parker will also headline a follow-up performance the next evening, Sunday, September 21, at New York City’s iconic Bitter End Club, bringing RADD’s message of hope, responsibility, and resilience directly to music fans.
