The Rookie Season 7 Episode 18 Recap: The Good, The Bad, And The Oscar
    (Disney/Mike Taing)

Lucy is a sergeant for the Night Shift and has dealt with some unruly subordinates and all types of random and dull calls.

She is out responding to a call when she realizes that her team isn’t responding to calls and is all at the same location. She drives to the location, where the entire team is sleeping, with one of them serving as the lookout.

Now she knows why they’re called the “Dream Team,” not because they’re great at their jobs.

Lucy is not thrilled with this new position and her first day on the night shift. She comes home and complains to Celina while lying on her bed.

Celina asks her if Tim will be around more, assuming they’re getting back together now that they’re sergeants.

Meanwhile, Tim is talking to Angela about the state of their relationship, too, and saying he’s not pressuring her into anything right now.

    (Disney/Mike Taing)

Bailey catches Nolan poring over an Oscar chart he has, trying to figure out a timeline and any information that can help him catch Oscar. He has an update because Oscar’s old running buddy, with whom he used to do cons, is dead.

Reggie Acosta, another member, is getting out of prison, and Nolan theorizes that Oscar will find him and kill him to get the rest of the money they scored.

Grey gives him temporary detective duties and details to look into this further.

Nolan gets to ride with Harper, who is eager to do something a bit different.

Miles is struggling with his dating profile, and Celina helps him out. Bradford also gives him advice, including telling him not to put down that he’s a cop because people have strong opinions about them.

    (Disney/Mike Taing)

They discuss it further in the shop, and Miles strikes a nerve when he mentions that Tim is too negative and that he doesn’t know how Lucy deals with him all the time. Bradford threatens to boot him from the program for disrespect.

They get a call about a bank robber. The guy runs through the park with money flying out of a backpack. They arrest him and he explains that his girlfriend has cancer and he was robbing a bank to save her.

Angela interviews the woman and they explains to him that he committed multiple felonies because he got scammed by someone with an AI girlfriend.

Harper and Nolan show up at a motel where they get a lead, there’s blood all over the room, and they suspect that Oscar found Reggie and attacked and took him.

Nolan sees a teen playing with a drone in the parking lot. He talks to him to see if he has seen anything or has information about Oscar or anything else.

    (Disney/Mike Taing)

Lucy has a hard time trying to sleep during the day and she considers texting Bradford. He’s on shift and considers the same.

Angela speaks to the robber’s wife about what happened, and she wonders what she should do next.

Back at the motel, Nolan and Harper are in the motel, and he spots Reggie returning to the room with a shovel and bags. But he doesn’t realize that Oscar is in another car, and he spots him.

Miles goes on a date with a woman named Lena. She is interested in him being a cop, and something seems off. He excuses himself to call Celina, and she looks up while he sees the Eastern Front gang outside gearing up to take him. She gets a hit on Lena.

He leaves the restaurant and commandeers a car while under fire. Celina calls Lucy, who rallies the rest of the Dream Team. Miles is on a high-speed chase, dodging gunfire, and Lucy and the Dream Team eventually intersect and arrest the five guys.

    (Disney/Mike Taing)

Lucy is a total badass and commands the scene, and Miles asserts that he’ll stick to the single life.

Nolan and Harper are still staking the motel out as night has fallen. Harper is asleep while Nolan keeps watch and chats with Bailey. After he hangs up with her, he heads to the vending machine where Oscar shows up, taxes him, and takes him.

Harper wakes up, mad that Nolan didn’t wake her, and searches around. She finds a blood splatter on the ground near the vending machine and Nolan’s phone and calls it in. The teen shows her his drone, finding a body in the motel room. Oscar killed his old partner, Reggie.

Oscar grabs Reggie’s arm. The map outlining the treasure is there. He makes Nolan walk to where the diamonds are so he can be the one to dig them up for him.

Harper calls in the cavalry. She wants the world. She goes to the teen and says that she needs him and his drone to help her find Nolan and that she’ll protect him with her life.

    (Disney/Mike Taing)

Oscar gets sentimental about Nolan saying its his most stable relationship. They’re still on a quest to find the diamonds but Harper and the teen are using the drone to search for them when he gets a look at the car that Oscar drove.

Nolan gets to digging and eventually hits the diamonds and finds them. He hates that he found them because Oscar is about to shoot Nolan. Harper tells the teen to fly the drone into Oscar. He, Nolan, and Oscar fight it out while a chopper flies overhead.

A sniper from the helicopter shoots at Nolan and Harper, and she shoots back. John does as well. Oscar gets into the helicopter and gets away.

Nolan still has the diamonds, though.

    (Disney/Mike Taing)

Angela talks to the bank robber’s wife and determines that she was behind scamming her husband.

Wesley and Angela talk about a weekend getaway.

Grey tells them that Garza called and they’re supposed to have a high-profile meeting.

Lucy comes home to Tim in her kitchen, cooking. He’s making a full spread meal for her, and he tells her to relax. He starts talking about their relationship and wanting to give things a go again, but when he looks up. She’s fallen asleep.

Ageela, Weesley, and Nolan meet up with Garza at the FBI. Apparently, there’s a big operation spanning multiple agencies, and they have to strike an immunity deal with someone to get state secrets.

The person who gets full immunity is Monica. She shows up, smug.
