The Big Audiobook Winners of 2025

The big audiobook awards event of the year in the U.S. took place last night when the 2026 Audie Awards® winners were announced. The awards recognizing audiobooks and spoken-word entertainment is conducted by the Audio Publishers Association. The Audiobook of the Year winner was none other than Sunrise on the Reaping by Suzanne Collins, narrated by Jefferson White, and the Fiction winner was Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid, narrated by Kristen DiMercurio, Julia Whelan, and Taylor Jenkins Reid. The Autobiography/Memoir winner was Matriarch by Tina Knowles, and who could compete with this narration team: Tina Knowles, Beyoncé, Solange, Kelly Rowland, and Angie Beyincé. Horror went to The Buffalo Hunter Hunter by Stephen Graham Jones, narrated by Shane Ghostkeeper, Marin Ireland, and Owen Teale, and I can personally attest to the excellence of that audiobook. Explore the full list of 2026 Audie Awards winners and finalists.

The Cast of the Three Incestuous Sisters Adaptation is Wow

Dakota Johnson, Saoirse Ronan, Jessie Buckley. Need I say more? Alright, Ottessa Moshfegh, author of My Year of Rest and Relaxation, wrote the script for Audrey Niffenegger’s Three Incestuous Sisters alongside director Alice Rohrwacher. I swear this is Jessie Buckley’s year, in no small part thanks to adaptations with her recent starring roles in Hamnet and The Bride!, the upcoming Frankenstein adaptation. I haven’t read Three Incestuous Sisters but I will probably be one among many picking it up ahead of and after the film release.

A BBC and A24 Adaptation of The Ministry of Time

Speaking of adaptations, Kaliane Bradley’s sci-fi romance, The Ministry of Time, was one of the buzziest books of 2024, and now it’s getting a series adaptation. Alice Birch, who penned the Normal People adaptation, nabbed this new(ish) project. Deadline reports that the show was announced two years ago but BBC recently confirmed to them that the team will shoot later this year. A24 is on board to produce and distribute the adaptation. We don’t know anything about casting yet, but we know it’s going to be big news when those roles are announced.

Terry Tempest Williams on The Glorians: Visitations from the Holy Ordinary

Terry Tempest Williams recently shared the unexpected sources of inspiration behind her new book, The Glorians: Visitations from the Holy Ordinary.

In the darkness of that morning, one week after the world had shut down due to a global pandemic from the coronavirus, I leaned over and grabbed my notebook and pen, always on my bedstand, and wrote, “The Epic Documentation of the Glorians.”
