Monograms should be discreet. While the classic American thing to do is have your moniker sewn onto your left sleeve, opt for a more subtle display on the tail or chestâ€â€Âeither on or just below the pocket of your shirt.

Traditionally, initials were sewn where the polo pony would go, but near the waistband is more modern.

First initial, last initial then middle initial.
Modern
First, middle then last initial. Or a singular letter or full first name.
