One Of The January 6 Committee’s Conspiracy Theories About Riot Debunked By Capitol Police

by admin
June 15, 2022
in Politics

The Democrats’ January 6 House select committee conspiracy theory that a GOP lawmaker conducted a ‘reconnaissance tour’ prior to the January 6 riot at the Capitol just went up in smoke.

And it was debunked by the Capitol Police themselves.

The Political Insider wrote just a few weeks ago that Representative Barry Loudermilk, a Georgia Republican, had been accused of leading one of the tours.

The January 6 panel, comprised exclusively of anti-Trump lawmakers, asked Loudermilk to voluntarily speak with its investigators about the matter.

“Based on our review of evidence in the Select Committee’s possession, we believe you have information regarding a tour you led through parts of the Capitol complex on January 5, 2021,” the group wrote in a letter.

BREAKING: Jan. 6 committee says they have evidence to suggest “reconnaissance tours” took place prior to the Capitol attack — and asks for cooperation from House Admin GOP Rep. Barry Loudermilk.

Capitol Conspiracy Theory Debunked

House Republicans angrily responded to the conspiracy claims of ‘reconnaissance’ being conducted by the Republican lawmaker and demanded the release of Capitol security footage from one day before the January 6 riot.

“Committee Minority staff have reviewed all footage in question and have confirmed no ‘reconnaissance tours’ occurred,” House Administration Committee ranking member Rodney Davis (R-IL) wrote in a letter to the Capitol Police Board.

He threatened to release the security footage.

The House select committee continued to push the conspiracy theory, claiming a review of the evidence “directly contradicts” Republicans’ denials that the video would show ‘reconnaissance’.

The committee did not specifically say anyone involved in the alleged Loudermilk ‘reconnaissance’ tour later took part in the Capitol riot. But their assertions and the subsequent media follow-up made clear the implication.

Politico’s headline screamed, for example: “GOP lawmaker acknowledges letting people into Capitol complex day before Jan. 6 attack.”

Capitol police responded to Davis’ letter on Monday and completely debunked the House select committee’s reckless conspiracy theory.

🚨BREAKING🚨: The truth will always prevail. As I’ve said since the Jan. 6 Committee made their baseless accusation about me to the media, I never gave a tour of the Capitol on Jan 5, 2021… pic.twitter.com/qBoLcmxnYQ

‘No Evidence,’ Nothing ‘Suspicious’

The letter from Capitol Police Chief J. Thomas Manger details the whereabouts of constituents who had visited with Loudermilk on January 5th.

They visited exhibits in the Cannon House Office Building when Loudermilk separated from the group.

“At no time did the group appear in any tunnels that would have led them to the U.S. Capitol,” the letter reveals.

In conclusion, Manger explained that “There is no evidence that Representative Loudermilk entered the U.S. Capitol with his group on Jan. 5, 2021.”

“We train our officers on being alert for people conducting surveillance or reconnaissance, and we do not consider any of the activities we observed to be suspicious,” he wrote.

and a small group visiting their congressman is in no way a suspicious activity. Now the Capitol Police have confirmed this fact.

— Rep. Barry Loudermilk (@RepLoudermilk) June 14, 2022

The letter is an important revelation as the House select committee conducts public hearings into their findings regarding the January 6 riot at the Capitol and they continue to promote other specious claims.

The Washington Post reports that Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA) of Russiagate notoriety believes the group has uncovered enough evidence to indict former President Donald Trump.

Schiff said he would like the DOJ to “investigate any credible allegation of criminal activity on the part of Donald Trump.”

The Democrat, who promoted the Trump-Russia collusion theory for years, was also caught ‘doctoring‘ a text message he submitted as evidence at a hearing back in December.

The committee admitted it had been altered.

Breaking: Following @FDRLST reporting that Adam Schiff and his staff doctored a text message between Jim Jordan and former WH chief of staff Mark Meadows, the House Jan. 6 committee has just admitted that it did, in fact, doctor the text message.https://t.co/78aRNyOib7

The House select committee, one day after receiving the letter indicating the Loudermilk ‘reconnaissance tour’ theory had been debunked, announced they were postponing their next public hearing.

No explanation has yet been offered.

The chairman of the J6 committee has insisted public hearings are necessary because “the public needs to know what to think.”

Any chance they mention this letter from Capitol Police when they finally reschedule?

Now is the time to support and share the sources you trust.
