Meghan Markle Will Appear as Guest Judge

Meghan Markle is set to appear as a guest judge on the season 18 premiere of MasterChef Australia.

The Duchess of Sussex filmed her cameo on the long-running and incredibly popular cooking competition series while on a brief tour of Australia with Prince Harry. Her episode of MasterChef Australia will air on Australia’s Network 10 and 10 Streaming on April 19.

“As part of her first Australian visit since 2018, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, featured as a guest judge on the country’s most beloved cooking show,” said a statement from the producers. “Meghan mentored and guided our nation’s top home cooks alongside MasterChef Australia judges, Poh Ling Yeow, Sofia Levin and Jean-Christophe Novelli.”

Appearing on a cooking series may not be that much of a surprise given Markle has dabbled with food content and products recently. Her now canceled Netflix lifestyle series With Love, Meghan featured famous chefs David Chang, Roy Choi, Christina Tosi and Jose Andres, and Markle also has a line of food products under the As Ever By Meghan, Duchess of Sussex brand.

The Sussexes whirlwind tour of Australia has dominated the news in the country and has seen them visit a children’s hospital, a women’s shelter, a veteran’s museum, war memorial and more.

Markle will not be the first royal to appear on MasterChef Australia, with the then Prince Charles making a surprise cameo in 2018, during his Australia tour with his wife Camilla.
