Here’s what Yeah Yeah Yeahs played as they kicked off their theatre tour of rarities and “favourites with new arrangements”

Yeah Yeah Yeahs kicked off their theatre tour in California on Tuesday – watch footage from the show and the full setlist below.

The ‘Hidden In Pieces Tour’ was announced in March and it marks the 25th anniversary of the New York band’s formation. The band have promised rarities and new arrangements of classic songs for the tour, with dates to come in London, Manchester and Mexico City as well as a trip across the US in July – scroll down for all the dates and ticket information.

The first show went down in the Fox Performing Arts Center in Riverside, California on Tuesday (June 10), and it saw the band play ‘Little Shadow’ from 2009’s ‘It’s Blitz!’ for the first time ever, as well as ‘Mars’ from 2022’s ‘Cool It Down’ and ‘Let Me Know’, which was released in demo version as a B-side for 2006 single ‘Gold Lion’.

They also covered Björk’s ‘Hyperballad’, as well as playing signature tracks such as ‘Maps’, ‘Y Control’ and ‘Zero’. Watch fan captured footage here:

“The dearly departed David Lynch would say: ’All you need to do is turn on the light and the darkness goes’. To let our love light shine we will be digging deep into our back catalogue. We’ll be playing songs that are rarely (if ever) performed, alongside all-time favourites with new arrangements to delight…and yes there will be acoustic guitars and strings too,” they added.

“We’d love for you to join us for these intimate performances in beautiful iconic theatres to celebrate 25 years of Yeah Yeah Yeahs, not a bad seat in the house!”
