The independent Bazooka! Fest is returning to Brooklyn next month, with Destroyer’s Dan Bejar set to headline alongside previously announced performers Stephin Merritt, Joanna Sternberg, Times New Viking, and Sad13. Check out the full lineup below. This year’s edition takes place on August 22 and 23 at the Meadows and the Wood Shop.
Founded by former Matador A&R director Jake Whitener, Bazooka launched in 2025 with an initial slate of Elf Power, the Moles, Pains of Being Pure at Heart, James McNew of Yo La Tengo, and more. In a statement, Whitener spoke about the decision to start the festival in the first place: “I always heard about festivals like All Tomorrow’s Parties or Athens Pop Fest that were super curated and featured these iconic artists playing in smaller venues alongside these exciting new bands that they directly influenced. It seemed like such a beautiful way to celebrate the ever evolving nature of underground rock and pop.”
